How to run a raffle
- List everyone who entered, one per line. If someone bought more than one ticket, add a comma and the number, like
Ava, 5. - Selling numbered paper tickets instead? Choose Ticket numbers and enter the first and last ticket number.
- Add your prizes in the order you’ll draw them, with the grand prize last.
- Press Draw a winner for each prize, or Draw all remaining to finish in one go. Use Copy results to share the winners.
Great for fundraisers, offices, and classrooms
- School and charity fundraisers. Enter each buyer with the number of tickets they bought, then draw the prizes live on a projector.
- Office giveaways and door prizes. Paste the attendee list and draw a few winners at the end of the all-hands.
- Classroom rewards. Give students a ticket for each good deed or finished assignment, then draw at the end of the week.
- Social media giveaways. Give extra entries for each share or referral, then screenshot the winner.
How the drawing works
Each entry gets a block of ticket numbers: if Ava has 5 tickets and Ben has 2, Ava holds tickets 1 to 5 and Ben holds 6 and 7. Each draw picks one ticket that’s still in the drum, with every ticket equally likely, and shows its number so anyone can check the result.
Drawing prizes from smallest to biggest keeps the room’s attention until the end, which is why the grand prize usually goes last.
If your raffle sells tickets for money, check your local rules first, since many places regulate raffles and require a license.
Frequently asked questions
Do more tickets really mean better odds?
Yes. Every ticket has the same chance, so someone with 5 tickets is 5 times as likely to win the next draw as someone with 1. The Chances for the next draw table shows everyone’s odds before each draw.
Can one person win more than one prize?
Only if you want them to. With Each person can win only once checked, a winner’s other tickets leave the drum. Uncheck it to let every ticket stay in, so a person with many tickets can win several prizes.
Can I draw from paper ticket numbers?
Yes. Choose Ticket numbers, enter the range printed on your tickets, like 1 to 500, and each draw reveals a ticket number to read out.
Is the draw fair?
Each ticket is drawn with your browser’s cryptographically secure random number generator, using a method with no bias toward any ticket. The flashing names before each reveal are just for show.
What if I refresh the page in the middle of the raffle?
The raffle is saved in your browser as you go, so the winners so far are still there when the page reloads.
