Random pickers

Tools that take your own list of names or options and pick, shuffle, or split it fairly.

Which picker should I use?

All of these tools start with a list you type or paste, one item per line. They differ in what they do with it:

  • Wheel Spinner is the most fun to watch. Use it when a group is gathered around one screen and the suspense is part of the point.
  • Random Name Picker draws names one at a time and can skip anyone already picked, so everyone gets a turn before anyone goes twice. It’s built for classrooms and meetings.
  • Team Generator splits a whole list into evenly sized teams or groups in one click.
  • List Randomizer shuffles the entire list into a new random order, which is useful for turn orders, presentation slots, and running orders.
  • Secret Santa Generator matches every giver with a recipient, respects rules like “partners can’t draw each other,” and creates a private link for each person.

Are the picks really random?

Yes. Every picker uses your browser’s built-in cryptographic random number generator (the Web Crypto API) and an unbiased shuffle, so each name has exactly the same chance. Nothing about the order you typed the names in, or how many times you’ve used the tool, affects the result.
